Company registration in Kenya goes digital

With the vast growth in Technology comes effective solutions. Many business have embraced this by taking their businesses online.

Most recently in Kenya, company registration took a new direction. Company registration in Kenya is now set to go digital. Initially the process would take a lifetime, but with the recent news from the State Law Office, Kenya has enjoyed the benefits. Most of the services offered by the registrar of companies are now carried online and via mobile phones at the comfort of the applicants.

This move has given Kenyans a great ease from the long waiting process before getting their business fully registered. The applicants only need to have a personal identifucation number, passport-sized photos and
eight hundred shilling (KShs 800) which is payable via M-pesa.
This is set to take a single day.

The State Law Office, with its digitized records, looks forward to having this
performed to completion in a day. This is also with obtaining business permits, tax registration, NSSF and NHIF registration as well as making a company seal. Initially these would take upto ten days.

The news was backed up by the 14 million shillings deal between the State Law Office and Safaricom to ensure investors can register their businesses through mobile phones at their own convenience.

This step has brought Kenya closer to other East African States like Tanzania and Rwanda that have already implemented the online business registration services.
